The Liquid Metal
Liquid metal refers to an amorphous metal, which can be regarded as a mixture of positive ion fluid and a free electron gas. Liquid metal is also an amorphous, flowable liquid metal. It not only has the original advantages of traditional metal materials: high hardness, high strength, high temperature resistance and so on. At the same time, it also has the superiority of non-metallic materials: such as elasticity, flexibility and corrosion resistance, so it is also called "metal glass".
The structural properties of liquid metal materials are:
1.Wear resistance. The AMC hardness can be maintained at 50 to 74 HRC, while the coefficient of friction is only 0.09. Due to the disappearance of the grain boundary, the traditional metal material is transformed into a single atomic structure, so that the distance between the atom and the atom is increased, and the elasticity and toughness are improved. When in the environment of rolling wear and impact wear, the distance between the single atomic structure of the liquid metal product can be arbitrarily contracted, and the high-uniformity and high-density amorphous structure is formed by rubbing the metal surface, thereby prolonging the liquid metal product. The wear time, while realizing the anti-wear and anti-wear characteristics, makes the traditional metal alloy material change from the hard-hard performance to the performance of the soft alloy and the compressed metal alloy material, which is less likely to fall off.
2.Corrosion resistance. Due to the disappearance of the grain boundary, the acid-alkaline corrosive liquid and gas can no longer enter the atomic structure of the metal alloy material through the corrosion channel of the grain boundary, and the service life of the liquid metal product is greatly improved under the environment of corrosion, wear and high temperature conditions. To ensure that the liquid metal alloy products can maintain the hardness and strength of the design for a long time, thereby improving the wear resistance of the liquid metal alloy products.
3.The carbon content of the cohesive liquid metal product is much lower than that of the conventional metal alloy material, so when it is used as a coating material, it can be easily attached to different substrate surfaces without high carbon like a conventional crystal structure. The content of the metal alloy material is easily embrittled. Moreover, the thermal expansion coefficient of the liquid metal material is extremely close to that of the conventional carbon steel, which can effectively prevent the internal stress of the coating due to the difference in thermal expansion coefficient during the spraying process, and thus effectively avoid cracking of the coating and improve the bonding strength.
4.Processability Liquid metal as a coating material, suitable for a variety of thermal spraying equipment, such as: arc spraying equipment, plasma spraying equipment, HVOF equipment, gas shielded welding equipment, spray welding equipment and laser cladding equipment. Liquid metal products are high-end products in the field of international metal alloy materials. The main application fields of this liquid metal products are industrial equipment and parts for anti-corrosion, anti-wear and high temperature resistance.
